The Censor Board Of Film Certification(CBFC) has passed the controversial word 'Bombay'

Bollywood : Anurag Kashyap can now look for some other reason to squabble with the censor board. His fight to retain the word 'Bombay' in the title of his new film Bombay Velvet is over. And the verdict is in Kashyap's favour.

The Censor Board Of Film Certification(CBFC) has passed the controversial word 'Bombay' in the first trailer of Bombay Velvet, reports dna.

Says a source from the CBFC, "Since the film is set in the 1960s the Maharashtra government's decision to change the title name of the city to 'Mumbai' in 1995 doesn't apply here.So we have let the word 'Bombay' remain." This is the second Anushka Sharma-starrer in a row to get the lenient treatment by the CBFC. Her just-released film NH10 has been allowed an unprecedented amount of violence by the CBFC.

However, the kisses in Bombay Velvet did not prove that lucky. Two shots of Anushka lip-locking with Ranbir Kapoor have been removed from the trailer by the CBFC. "This is because the trailer was given a UA certificate. If they agree to take an 'A' for the actual feature film, the kisses can remain," says the CBFC source. (BollywoodChain.Com)
