Hollywood (Apr 22): Vintage horror movie "The Entity" is getting a makeover. James Wan is set to serve as a producer along with Roy Lee ("The Ring", "The Grudge", "Poltergeist"), while duo Chad and Carey Hayes are on board to write the screenplay.

The original movie is based on Frank De Felitta's novel of the same name. It revolves around Carla Moran, a single mom who is abused physically and sexually by a supernatural demon. Barbara Hershey played the lead role in the 1980s feature film.

The upcoming revamped version will become a reunion between Wan and the Hayes brothers who wrote his previous scary movie "The Conjuring". Wan just completed "Furious 7" which became a big hit for Universal. He will next direct "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist" and is rumored to direct "Aquaman" for Warner Bros.
